Females and Comuters October 8, 2007 106 out of 117 found this review helpful
Nintendo are really trying to sell their DS to females and comuters (I'm female and a comuter). Having seen the DS advertised on the tube, I was keen on researching them to see if I would like it.
I haven't really played computer games since I was about 13 and I must say, its really come along way since then (I'm now 28).
Firstly, the DS lite is a lovely small size and fits nicely into your handband. In fact, its much smaller than a book. I love playing my DS on the tube it really makes the time fly by. Normally, on the tube, I read a book or listen to my ipod, so its a nice change to be able to do something different.
The games for the DS are great. My initial concern about getting a DS would be that the games were for males children. I'm not really into sports and fighting games but there are loads of games out and I'm sure you will find something you like. YOu can do puzzle games or even manage your own town, so games have come along way since the traditional view of games.
This review is written from the view of a female so it might not be helpful for everyone, but if you are thinking if getting a DS - I recommend it.
Technology is not so frightening! September 26, 2007 64 out of 70 found this review helpful
I bought a DS lite to play the brain training game - Not being one who played computer games in my youth, I found this console simple and easy to use. In fact, I am quite addicted to it! It holds its charge and is easy to charge. Nice bit of techno for the older gen!
Good with kids, doesn't bite adults either! September 19, 2007 8 out of 12 found this review helpful
Both kids have had one of these things for almost a year and despite the abuse they have dished out, these DS Lite machine things just keep on going. When you buy the games try and get the quieter ones as the sound tracks get on the nerves but there is a volume control, or you can throw out the kids and tell 'em to get some fresh air instead of lounging around inside wasting their time peering at little screens. Footballs better for them , but try and stop them wanting one now that all kids are born with mobile phones and Nintendoes permanently glues to their grubby mits. Best games are the brain training ones, these are genuinely worthy for kids and adults alike and do partially offset some of the pain.
Nintendo one word: BRILLIANT! September 8, 2007 12 out of 15 found this review helpful
I Purchased the new "Lite" version and i was surprised, after owning the PSP which in my view was poor i decided to get a DS and my life has changed, well my view of games has changed anyway Nintendo have been dominating the gaming market with the Wii and DS and are the 2 top most sold consoles in the UK and are great for the family. The Ds has a huge amount of games from mario, to redident evil, to brain training, to pet labradors. A Great console which is great for people on the go ore just want something different. Once again nintendo you have done it again
Great console! August 29, 2007 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is a good console to get your hands on. What ever your age is, there will always be a game there for you, the only problem is that they're quite expensive. I loved the few games i had although as this nintendo is not a computer its actions in some cases are limited. And i find from the games i have, that te goals are quickly reached.
The cosole itself is small and neat. It can fit into any pocket and is easily transportable. The power buttons is easy to use and the console is light and comfortable to hold. The game card slots are well positioned so as not to prohibit game play. To place the stylus is also well placed and unlike some other consoles it holds and stays there firmly in place. everything else is secure and has not fallen apart yet. The speakers and the screens are all inside and are hardly ever going to get scratched in playing or carrying.
Overall this is a peice of must have equipment. Top quality functions and presentation i class this with 5 stars. Enjoy!
