LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures takes the fun and creative construction of LEGO and combines it with the wits, daring and non-stop action from the original cinematic adventures that enthralled audiences everywhere (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). With a unique tongue-in-cheek take on the original adventures, LEGO Indiana Jones follows Dr. Jones escapades through the jungles of South America to the mountaintops of India. Fans can build, battle and brawl their way through their favorite cinematic moments, from Indy?s entanglements with snakes to his dashing boulder run. Of course, pop culture?s most iconic archeologist will whip through all the classic moments with the help of a host of supporting characters including Marion Ravenwood and Short Round. Players can also mix and match the body parts of more than 60 playable characters to create new heroes just as they could in the best-selling LEGO Star Wars games.

"You call him Dr Jones Lady" October 28, 2008 Indiana Jones, in Lego, who'da thunk it. To be honest I simply love this game, of course that may stem from my love for the original Indiana Jones trilogy, however it's a darn fine DS game too. The game takes you through each film (Raiders of the lost Ark, Temple of Doom, Last Crusade) with great detail in each level so you can almost instantly recognise which scene in the films you are playing. The graphics are really good for the DS and you can roam around a fairly large area in some levels.
Gameplay is still standard Lego fair, but then why try to fix what isn't broken. New weapons (i.e a big Saracen sword, machine gun, blow pipe, spear and even a rocket launcher ... you know, from Raiders... at the end bit). Characters are great too, with ol' Jonsey and his Dad, Short Round (what d'ya mean "oh no not him"), The evil voodoo guy from Temple Of Doom, that guy from Raiders.... they're all in it basically.
Levels range from the simple platform to driving Short Round's car in Temple to driving the speedboat in Crusade. There's plenty to cover across all the levels, but even when you're done you can go back and collect more stuff in "free play" mode to unlock new characters, mini games and more. Just a great game to sit down and immerse yourself in Indiana Jones. Oh I should also mention, once again the music on this Lego game is great, using the original score from the films. Highly recommended.
Good game, but buggy July 26, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a good game, as much fun as Lego Star Wars. In fact, it's the same game in different clothes. But without the satisfaction of the Jedi Slam. My main issue with it (despite the 4 stars) is that it has a habit of crashing silently at the end of levels. Not crashing altogether, but just failing to provide the actions needed to finish the level, so you can keep playing for hours and never find out what you need to do. Very frustrating, and it always happens at the *end* of a level. e.g. today I was playing a level that involved scaring flocks of seagulls. I think the final flock needs to be scared by firing a bazooka at the cliffs, but as I only got one once, got killed, and no soldiers appeared after that, I won't know until I've replayed the level. This happens on about one in three levels. Conclusion, if you have lots of free time buy this game, if you don't, wait 6 months until they've ironed the bugs out.
excellent fun... July 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
having played star wars to death i didnt think i would get so much fun from this but the openess and variety of the levels is impressive, driving as always being the hardest for me.
completing the game is easy but the fun is going back to unlock everything, something i was never into.
bring on lego batman

My mum got this game and I had a bit of a play on it. I have to say I will be getting myself a copy very soon. It's addicitve, entertaining and for a DS game has good graphics. The music is nice to listen to as well. A well deserved five stars.
