1 out of 5 stars Boring waste of time   October 4, 2008
1 out of 3 found this review helpful

This book is simply boring ! Got nothing from this book and can't see why it has got such a good reviews. I purchased based on the rating and was so disappointed - basically says think big, almost no case studies or interesting facts, says nothing of any interest and it a total bore - do not buy !

5 out of 5 stars Beginning to 'Think Big'   October 31, 2007

This book is a guide for anyone who wants to succeed in life. Dr Schwartz explains the reasons for `thinking big' and follows this up with ways to succeed with your big plans. Think big, remove fear and prosper is the underlying message that comes across.

The style of writing makes for an enjoyable read. Dr Schwartz has a wonderful understanding of those eager to learn and backs up an entertaining and informative read with superb examples.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be keeping it for future reference. It is the ideal guide for those who aspire to succeed in life but need some pointers into the right direction. A lot of the information reported might appear to be common sense. There is a lot more that is not. It is this attention to detail that will enable you to succeed where others have not. Enjoy this book.

4 out of 5 stars Upbeat ode to confidence and a positive attitude   October 9, 2007
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

David J. Schwartz wrote this book nearly 50 years ago, but its principles are as fresh as the latest positive thinking seminar. Attitude, says the author, determines whether people embrace opportunities in life, and how they handle difficulties and challenges. He teaches that professional and personal success is rooted in self-confidence, conviction and optimism. Schwartz's advice and recommendations hold up, though you may wonder what planet you're on when he refers to $65 weekly salaries and $1,200 down payments on homes. Life obviously has changed dramatically in the past half-century and, considering the vast number of self-help books on the market, Schwartz's ideas hardly seem revolutionary, though they may have been at the time. We believe this classic retains its valuable foundation: A basic, useable approach to pursuing a happy, purposeful life.

5 out of 5 stars Has to be the Classic of PMA Books ..........if not the best!!   October 5, 2007
I can only affirm & agree wholeheartedly with ALL the Positive reviews written here already. Truly a classic & one of the best of the PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) series of books. Straight to the point & full of inspiration.

A much needed "pick me up" pep pill when you're feeling down & a little lost in your life or career. It's never too late to start afresh!! Easy to read, digest & apply to your own life RIGHT NOW!! Get it, get up, get out & start living a new, improved & happier life right from page one!

No airy fairy weird and wonderful (or unbelievable) stuff, just plain and practical solutions that you can activate straight away & incorporate into your regime without delay. For winners only!!
