Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Classic behind-the-scenes look at the world of snooker   March 29, 2008
Gordon Burn's superb examination of the green baize giants and the phenomenon that was snooker. During a year spent with the stars of the game such as Steve Davis, "Hurricane" Higgins, Cliff Thorburn and Jimmy White as they cross cues for the game's biggest prizes, Burn provides many piercing insights into the game and his descriptions of the many faces of failure are particularly memorable. This title is about to be re-issued and is essential reading for anyone fascinated by snooker, or, indeed sports in general as it is writing of the highest calibre.
