4 out of 5 stars Detailed enough!   August 2, 2006
2 out of 4 found this review helpful

Well I've had Leaf Green since last year and even though I'd beat the Elite Four I still hadn't managed to collect all the Pokemon available. That isn't the reason I got this book though, the reason is that I simply enjoy reading walkthroughs for games I have :) I got this today and had a look through it...to me it looks really helpful and good reading so I give it a 4 out of 5. It may not be detailed enough for some people so that's why I can't give it full marks but still, I think it's a fab book for people who are needing help with the game.

1 out of 5 stars A Huge Disappointment From Prima   January 22, 2005

It's a repeat of what others have said, but this guide was a massive disappointment. It fails to deliver what it says on the back of the book - i.e. breeding guides (not only that, it doesn't even tell you WHERE you can breed! Utterly useless and a silly omission!) and Ruby/Sapphire link ups (there's no mention of anything R/S related). There are serious errors in the book, features are missing, maps are missing, and overall it doesn't even cover half of what's in the game. The Pokedex is also extremely weak, also containing errors, but generally offering somewhat limited information.

Usually Prima's Pokemon guides are excellent. But this is just not worth your time at all. If there's no alternative, I'm afraid you'll need to make do with online FAQs on the game. A real shame, but just don't buy this item!

1 out of 5 stars Not Good Enough   November 10, 2004
10 out of 15 found this review helpful

I've been playing Pokemon since the Red game came out many years ago. I have always sought out a strategy guide and generally found them extremely useful. However, I'm forced to submit that this guide for the latest game is sadly lacking. Its almost as if the writers have only played half the game. Once you get to the end of the book there is so much more to see and do, trading with Ruby/Sapphire and a Pokedex that should go up to 385 or thereabouts! Unfortunately these answers are currently only available on web sites.

1 out of 5 stars Appalling! Avoid at all costs   November 3, 2004

Upon buying this item I thought "yey" I can finally find out what to do with the Unowns (and what they all look like), catch Mew and find out where Deoxys is.

Unfortunatley the guide lacks info on all of the above including 4 of the 7 islands. I realise I'm essentially repeating a previous review, but the truth is I feel so let down by this....this....so called...guide, that nobody else in the world should be duped into buying it!

But if you like incomplete guides, false advertising and information so obvious a two year old could've bettered it, then this could be for you! Or not!

You choose, but it's your funeral (or nigglingly incomplete game)

5 out of 5 stars Prima official guides! Gotta get one   October 1, 2004

This guide is well presented and has many surprises which does not spoil the hidden secrets to the game. A great addition to any Poke-nuts' collection as it is well illustrated and gives you a complete listing of both Kanto and Johto Pokemon and where to get them. Overall I recommend this guide to anyone who is new or a veteran of Pokemon..

Happy hunting!
