Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A small gem   January 18, 2008

Seth live is best, but this will give you the flavour of his vigorous style on fiddle and mandolin to mention only 2 of the instruments he plays so well. From the stomping first 3 numbers ,( how can you keep your feet still during these?), to the aching lyrics and gentle harmonies of Lilywhite Girl, Seth showcases his talent here, so well. If you cant get this, keep trying, its worth it.

A very slight change in style perhaps on this EP, with a tinge of Led Zep III style acoustic rock phrasing at times, but no bad thing. Otherwise, excellent songs, played with passion and verve by one of the tightest, fiercest live bands out there.

5 out of 5 stars Seth Lakeman- A true & rare talent   October 25, 2007

I would urge anyone who attended Seth Lakeman's sell out tour this autumn to dash out and but this. The title track Poor Mans's Heaven is a rip roaring blast of fiddle, guitar percussion with Seth's fabulous gutsy vocals providing a perfect contrast.

Race to be King is fast & furious with an almost rhythmic dance feel and is a fitting showcase for his outstanding talent as a fiddle player.

How Much is a live track that is one of the bands favourites, and will take you by the scruf of the neck and will not let go!

The final track is sublime, a lyrical haunting ballard featuring Seth on fiddle & vocals accompanied by Kathryn Roberts
