The music from one of the greatest games ever May 21, 2004 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
This group of music really adds the action and suspense to the game and makes you feel as if your in the game battling with the bosses yourself. Owning this is a raerety and you could be one of the very few who have it. So if you are a hardcore metal gear solid fan, and you love the exciting, suspense and tense music. then this is the game soundtrack i advise you must get.
An Action Masterpiece July 22, 2002 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Gregson-wiliams uses superb orchestration and techno synthesizes to deliver a cinematic masterpiece which conveys the different emotions of the characters. The 'main theme' is my favourite because it collaborates all the tracks on the CD together. If you have the game you need this!
As good a game soundtrack as u'll ever find! May 20, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Harry Gregson Williams (Enemy of the State) composes a brilliant score to a brilliant game. The music matches every scene and adds every emotion to the images on screen. From the outstanding main theme heard first on the trailer to the can't say goodbye piano solo track. A must buy for any fan of the PS2 game. Cant wait for the other MGS2 CD (I think its called Metal Gear Solid 2: The other side) to be released over here (the lucky japanese and americans) it has even more of the score!
An incomplete Masterpiece? May 11, 2002 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Whilst not detracting from this soundtrack which contains all the music from the trailers and some of the more momentous scenes to MGS2 in a more fuller version (I was pleasantly surprised to find the track 'Kill Me Now' used in one of the trailers but sorely missing from the game itself!) the music from this CD IS NOT all the MGS2 music... However, with simular sounds to Crimson Tide and Enemy of the State (which Harry Gregson-Williams was involved with) this has a real movie feel to it -exactly what Metal Gear Solid 2 needed- and proves that Computer Games are not just for kids now, it's just a shame it's incomplete...
An Classic & Epic Album May 10, 2002 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is an amazing soundtrack, for possibly the best game ever made. Without the music for Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty (for the PS2) the game wouldn't have been as good as it was. The music plays a paramount role in the game, giving it an epic feel, especially the opening theme. When I first watched a trailer for the game over a year before it was released and I heard it's main theme, performed by Harry Gregson-Willaims (Enemy Of The State, The Rock) the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. It's a most buy for any person whose played the game. If you've played MGS2 you will defiantly appreciate it a lot more than a person who hasn't, as memories of the game will come shooting back. It's possibly the best soundtrack for a computer game ever!!!
