The soundtrack of 1984! November 11, 2005 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
When Footloose came out in 1984, it was an instant hit. Everybody I knew raced out to see it, and a lot of the tunes from it became hits. Well, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the release of the movie, this CD was released with all of the tunes digitally remastered! In fact, as a bonus, this CD has four tracks that were not on the original album. OK, what can I say? This CD isn't just the soundtrack of the movie Footloose, it's almost a soundtrack of 1984! Among its great tunes are Footloose, Let's Hear It For The Boy, and a tune I really love, Holding Out For A Hero. Yep, I love this CD. If you are into 1980s music, then this is a great album to get!
Great to boogie too! September 7, 2003 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this after watching the movie as a child and have fond memories prancing round my living room singing to Lets Hear It For The Boy! Mostly good tracks but a few dull ones that you have to think back to the movie to remember. All in all good music and fab to drive to or relive your youth and prance around to once again!
A must-have Soundtrack album June 6, 2001 23 out of 25 found this review helpful
Capturing the essence of the film, the Footloose soundtrack album makes you feel good, tap your feet, and generally dance around like you were back at Youth Club disco. It may have been karaoke-ied to death, but the title track makes a great start and really gets you dancing (not to mention singing along.) With other feel-good tunes such as "Let's Hear it for the Boy" and "I'm Free", this album encapsulates all that is good about Soundtrack albums - it really captrues the spirit of the film.
