Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars AWESOME   July 26, 2008
I've always wanted to see all the episodes of dino riders. Now i can with this excellent dvd set. I always love cartoons that have dinosaurs starring in them. Its always good when a series is released in its complete collection, instead of in installments. These 2 discs have all 13 episodes. This is a great buy if you love cartoons from the 1980s or if you collected the toyline of dino riders.

4 out of 5 stars the long wait is finally over   February 8, 2008
As fas as i know, this is the only time this series were ever released. This show is very action packed, with most of the episodes filled with over the top dinossaur mayhem. However, since this is a kids show, there are no actual deaths or big injuries on the characters. I noticed that most of the voice casting is the same from transformers, youll immediatly recognize the voice talents of Peter Cullen, Frank Welker and a few others, wich is a very good thing. This DVD set doesnt have any extras but the sound and picture are of good quality (with the exception of one episode where half the episode is somewhat shadowed). To sum it up, this DVD set is a must for the fans of this series and the only option available to watch it again.

2 out of 5 stars How can a 'complete series' release be missing an episode?   January 29, 2008

I received this set in the mail a few weeks ago and I have to say that I was somewhat dissappointed in it.

Contrary to what the in house review (where the person who wrote it obviously never bothered to even view the DVD and got their info elsewhere) the set does NOT have 14 episodes as it should- the 14th and last episode ever made, "Ice Age Adventure" does not appear on this disc". However that said, the DVDs have been authored from a good master as the episodes themselves are of good sound and picture quality.

The episodes on the disc and their order of playback are as follows:

1. The Adventure Begins
2. The Rulon Stampede
3. The Blue Skies of Earth
4. Revenge of The Rulons, a.k.a. The Adventure Continues
5. T-Rex
6. Krulos
7. Tagg, You're It!
8. Toro, Toro, Torosaurus
9. Thanksgiving
10. Enter The Commandos
11. Battle for the Brontosaurus (Part 1 of 2)
12. One to Lead Us (Part 2 of 2)
13. To Lose The Path

Again note that "14. The Ice-Age Adventure" IS MISSING from this release.

Also, nothing much can be said the special features on the discs because they are non-existant. Not a good move considering that one of the main markets for this DVD is the "80s nostalgia" demographic. Honestly, what was so hard about acquiring a toy commercial or two or interviewing a couple of voice actors? If other 80s series can be given such treatment, I fail to see why Dino Riders couldn't.

In short this release is a very substandard one. Don't get me wrong, the episodes that are there are certainly enjoyable and viewable enough, but the set is far from complete and 80's nostalgia fans are used to far more in terms of 80s cartoon releases on DVD.

My advice for anyone who grew up as a fan of the series is to treat this for what it is- "Dino Riders: The INCOMPLETE Series", no more than 13 episodes, no less than 13 episodes!
