Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review
Warning! Those are not vampires coming up behind you, but purveyors of a cheap movie tie-in game. Blade 2 thinks that if it gives you some punk-rock bad guys and the mocking guidance of Whistler you're likely to be satisfied. And some will be. But the rest of us will be scratching our heads, wondering why Blade looks like a beefy Will Smith (instead of the lean-yet-muscular Wesley Snipes) and sounds like Some Guy They Got For Cheap, instead of a reasonable impersonator.

Action-adventure gamers know the deal before the game even starts: strafe with bullets, special attack, punch and kick, complete missions. That's all well and good. This game earns its 15 rating with a particularly gross attack--a stab to the top of the head that seems to be Blade's specialty. (There are also plenty of swear words.) With a smidge of gore and an uninspired plot, Blade 2 is a game for fans only. --Jennifer Buckendorff

3 out of 5 stars Good fun if you have nothing else to do   September 18, 2007
As a big Blade film fan I was quite excited about this game. Although it isn't anywhere near as good as any of the usual big named games I play - GTA, Resident Evil...
But then I think this game was made on a lower budget and I don't think it's supposed to be. This game is still great fun to play and I would recommend you buy this for a cheap price as it's quite old now if you're a Blade fan or enjoy playing an action shoot em up game.
However I am not the best PS2 player and I managed to complete this game fairly quickly so don't buy this if you're looking for a game to keep you entertained for months on end. Only buy this if you're after a fun game to play when you've got a few hours to kill (no pun intended) every now and then.
I gave this game 5 stars in fun as it is enjoyable to play, and easy to control. What lets this game down is the repeatativness of the levels, the shortnes of the game and the graphics.

3 out of 5 stars Its Good But Not Great!!!   February 6, 2006

I like this game because of the eefect of when you kill the vamps like when they turn to ash ...Now Thats Cool!!!!
But it would have beem cooler if they let you where the leather jacket like in the movie..Then you would be the complete Daywalker but they didnt think of puttin it in.
But the game is good like and i wouldnt stop anyone from buyin it..remember thats only wat i think!!

4 out of 5 stars Blade 2 Game Is Good But Not Great   February 6, 2006
I think this game is good because of all the diffrent weapons u can get..this game is good also because of the effects of the vamps burning when u kill them it is quite impressive.
the game is not great because they could have atleast got wesley snipes to do the voice of blade but they didnt so..a SHAME!!!.
The other thing that makes the game bad is blade look like a fat will smith..NOW come on..they could have atleast made ans effort to make him a look a like.....But apart from that the game is GOOD!!!!

3 out of 5 stars Could be better   September 11, 2004
This game is good but not great. The graphics are good and so is the audio. The gameplay is a good too. There are many challenging missions to do and you go through them with a range of guns and every so often you can use Blade's sword. You kill vampires and different kinds of them which is really fun for a game which is a shoot em up one. There a vampires swarming around you and you have to protect yourself which can be hard. Complete the objectives and the more you do and kill on the mission the more points you will get at the end of the missions. The game relates to the storyline of the film which the game has captured extremly well with its backgrounds and locations. Overall a good game if you like shoot em ups but it has not not got the finishing touch.

1 out of 5 stars A load of rubbish   April 18, 2004
Let's see, the first problem with this game is the level layout repeats on almost every level. The decoration is different but it's just the same basic layout. There's a few slight similarities to the movie, but may aswell be totally independent from it and not even be called Blade II.

I would say whoever made this game has only ever played those games in arcades and doesn't know what a home user wants in a game. The navigation's clunky, the levels are rubbish, a pointless story and becomes extremely tedious and boring come the second level. Unless you're a super diehard fan of the Blade movies, I don't think you'll be wanting this game.
