Text display unsatisfactory for me September 14, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Wanting to update the excellent COD 9th edition cd-rom, I purchased the COED 11th edition. However, I have a sight problem, and updating has proved to be a mistake because I find the text on the 11th edition too thin and 'spidery', even with the larger font of the two size settings. Unless you have good eyesight, do try and view the 11th. Meanwhile, for the present, I continue to use the visually superior 9th .....
Highly recommended. August 6, 2008 At this price the dictionary is brilliant. There are free online dictionary to use, but I don't think they compare to this brilliant tool. It's always there on the desktop available to use. It has advanced functions that I have not used yet as I am happy to use its basic function. I have been unable to think of a word that is not included. It is actually an education to randomly scroll through the words learning new amazing word that I'd never heard of before.
Highly recommended.
A Superb dictionary at a great Price! February 7, 2006 39 out of 41 found this review helpful
Given the superb quality of this dictionary, the price is a steal. For the average writer, this product will more than cover all of their needs (I'm discovering new features in it every day).It has quite a few useful features which I use nearly every day. Just fire up your word-processor, have the COD running in the background, and when you double-click on a word, COD will display it. Further, if you click on the head-word, the program will also pronounce it for you. Isn't that clever. Further, when you click on any word in the definition of the head-word, COD will go directly to that word. There is also a very useful guide to English useage which I find indispensible. All in all, a great product at a ridiculous price. Go ahead and buy it - you won't regret it.
