BRILLIANT! October 20, 2008 Have only had this game for over a week and in this short space of time have become totally hooked. Try it for yourself and see...
Scrabble Nintento DS October 12, 2008 This is the best game that I have bought so far for the DS, it kept me going during a nine hour flight to America. It is challenging as you play a different level of player as you improve which makes you work harder. There is also an anagram game and a game where letters escalade into making words. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys the conventional game of Scrabble.
'Fatal Flaw At World Championship Level Spoils The Fun' September 8, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was really enjoying playing this game and looking forward to getting past the many weak computer opponents to get to take on the 'big boys' at world championship level. However, when I got there (losing only two games to one opponent on the way) I found that all of the games at world championship level are timed. This would not be such a bad idea for a different challenge if the clock was set at a reasonable amount of time. However against the WEAKEST opponent at world championship level you have only 5 minutes on the clock to get through an entire game! The computer opponent usually moves almost straight away and can lay all its tiles on the board in one go. You on the other hand have no time at all to work on your letters and lose every time because you ultimately run out of time trying to get your tiles one-by- one onto the board. Not only isn't this any fun, it's not a genuine test of your Scrabbling abilities because you might have great letters but you have no time at all to think! I beat all of the previous opponents first game with the exception of one that took me three games to beat. Now I am stuck with playing against opponents that I will beat 9/10 times or not playing at all. Yes, there are other games and the graphics are good etc but I wanted to be able to play a normal game of Scrabble against a challenging opponent and I can't really do that now. With no high score facility either, I can't even play on to see how many points I can thrash them all by! FRUSTRATING and DISAPPOINTING in the extreme. Unless you are only a very mediocre player, I would miss this and wait for a better version to arrive.
Still a real challenge... August 25, 2008 I have owned this game for a few months now, but still love it as much as I did the first day I bought it. It has its flaws but you can still find it a rewarding experience, for example I thought I would find being unable to see the whole screen at once a bit of a downer, but I hardly notice it I am too preoccupied trying to beat my nemesis - Camilla. I have only managed to beat Camilla twice in several months of trying (the second time was today, the first time about seven weeks ago) and I play on average two or three times a day, which means the game is still an exciting challenge and there is still one better player to go after her, I don't think I will ever get tired of this game! This game is a fun challenge regardless of your skill level due to the various levels (characters) involved.
DS Scrabble Review July 6, 2008 An excellent game. I've been playing scrabble on facebook and bought this as a game to take on holiday for long flight entertainment. I didn't think it would be as good as it is, as it's hard to imagine playing against a computer but it's easy to play and challenging.
There could be a few more levels of competence, but as you can play one off games against all levels there is plenty of gameplay.
Anyone who can complete the career mode is a genius!
