5 out of 5 stars A must for all DS owners   August 4, 2008

I ordered mine last Thursday it arrived Saturday. Setup and configuring it is as easy as using a mouse and keyboard. All the software is available from the R4 website.
I strongly suggest checking out the Glitch DS and Protein DS homebrew music apps.
There are various emulators that can be used to play Genesis/Megadrive and SNES games. The best I have found are SNEmulDS and jEnesisDS.

It's an amazingly simple piece of kit to use, install and configure. I can recommend this device to any Nintendo DS owner.

It claims it works with 4 and 8 gig microsdhc but it dusnt. if you are looking for the original R4 i suggest that u dont buy it on Amazon but check the original R4DS site where u can find the correct R4's.

Yeah I think this is a fake. I regret buying this. It just didn't work. Just said 'Loading' and didn't do anything else. After inspecting the boxing, it basicly isn't the official R4. Avoid.

5 out of 5 stars Very simple   June 19, 2008

A great little product that once combined with a Micro SD card allows you to play Nintendo ROM games, mp3's and films (in .dpg format). Some complain that these Revolutions don't ship with a CD for the software, but you really don't need it. I think they stopped shipping them as the firmware updates too regularly - besides, the software is easily available on the website. Just go to http://www.r4ds.com/index-en.htm and download the latest firmware (v1.18 is the version at the time of writing). Unpack this by using Winrar and then simply copy all the files to the root directory of the Micro SD card to put the operating system on to the cartridge. You can back up games, transfer MP3's direct to the SD card and all are played perfectly. Absolute bargain.

3 out of 5 stars Missing pieces   May 25, 2008

Received very quickly so very pleased but noticed missing components. No hard carrying case and no software disc. Knew about the sd card needed so not a problem. USB stick was different, something called a "flash" stick. Dont know if that makes any difference,
