Fantastic game in true Nintendo style!
When I initially purchased the Dachshund version of Nintendog, it was more due to curiosity and temptation rather than because I thought the game would be much fun. This was because I saw the game as targeted at children and young teens (I'm 21). However, I am pleasantly surprised and after having the game for a week, I am not at all bored. There is much satisfaction to be gained from such cute little pups. Once you're tired of walking, feeding and cleaning your pup, there's challenging contests and the interactive components are excellent and show the DS to its full potential. My favourite aspect is definitely training for the contests, and I love the way the dogs act and behave in a similar way to the real life versions of the breed. This game is truly unique - and ideal for anyone who likes dogs or any animals for that matter. I have recently learned that by gaining trainer points you can unlock other breeds that you haven't paid for which has offered a new challenge for me. The range of challenges (contests, unlocking new breeds, training, etc) and the fact that play is limited (3 competitions a day, 3 new tricks a day, dog gets tired so can't walk too much) means the game lasts longer, and you feel excited at the next days play. It also prevents overplay, which I think can on occasions spoil games. I therefore conclude with - BUY THIS GAME and you wont be disappointed. If you're initially bored with it, give it a chance, because there's so much more than meets the eye, and I like it more now than I did the first day I bought it (which is rare)
Cute n cuddly without the mess February 8, 2006 50 out of 54 found this review helpful
I ordered my nintendo dogs before christmas and the console is superb. The dual screen is a brilliant edge over over handhelds and the quality of graphics for the games is great. Its good value for money if you buy the ds/dogs bundle too! The game itself is brilliant! I warn you-addictive! and also a bit of advice -YOU DONT NEED TO BUY ALL THREE GAMES TO GET ALL THE BREEDS!! After gaining trainer points each breed is gradually introduced. After only three days i have already been awarded the pug breed and german shepard so the more you play the more breeds you get! The game play is super so just buy it now!

The Look; Well first of all it is a beautiful sleek, slim console, the shape is a little different from anything I have played on before. The design is perfect. The Screens; The screens are amazingly cool, the dogs keep walking from one screen to another, that is totally awesome. The bottom one is incredibly sensitive, it will respond to your every command but if you accidently touch it softly then nothing will happen. The Graphics; The graphics are ace, they even make the crappy GBASP games look good, and they really are pathetic. The dogs look so realistic, and do incredibly cute, that you just have to love them to pieces. Everything else; Brilliant
BRILLIANT EXCELLANT I'm stuck for words January 2, 2006 33 out of 38 found this review helpful
When I first played this game I was amazed I loved it all most at once. Its like taking care of a real dog, you feed it, take it for walks, enter it in competitions and much much more. I got 1 dog to start with now I've got 3. When you take your dog for a walk you have to take a route and don't forget you have to POOP SCOOP. If you don't the people you meet on your walk can be quite cross. I think this is the most brilliant game EVER!!!!! I had a game boy advance SP but it's not nearly as good as the Nintendo DS. I would advise you to BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!! It's really worth your money.
