gamecube = the best December 5, 2007 well...wen the gamecube came out...i wanted to get a gcn but every told me it will drop like the dreamcast...so i bought a ps2...i mean yeah the ps2 has fifa, gta, gran turismo...but the gamecube have 4 of the best games in the world - pokemon, mario, zelda and metroid and now sonic...also because there is no dvd drive the laser focuses on the games so loading times are really short!!! and the controller is unique and is amazing to use....10 OUT OF 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Console.....only has 1 flaw. September 10, 2007 Nintendo Gamecube is a great console its graphics and gameplay are amazing!
But sadly it does have 1 flaw and that is the lack of games it has i mean every gamestore i know they don't sell gamecube games anymore (Unless Preowned) well its games are good but can be a little kiddesh i.e mario.
There has only been 1 game series that has kept me and the gamecube going and that is sonic the hedgehog without him i wouldn't have botherd getting the gamecube.
So sadly you will have to buy your games (NEW!) online unless you can handle a preowned version.
KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU WILL NEED TO LIKE ITS GAMES BEFORE YOU BUY IT.
Overall 7/10 must have for any nintendo fan!
Nintendo - the best manufacturer! August 29, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Nintendo are the best - simply no doubt about it! Everyone 'winges' because the GameCube does not play DVDs or put the kettle on. (never heard of a DVD Player!??) Nintendo stay loyal to the gaming facility, and that's why not only do you get supreme quality, but you get the smallest mains operating console as a result, and the smallest gaming discs too! Nintendo consoles never let you down either; extremely durable and well made. I'm not one for coloured consoles myself, as I think it cheapens the look, but trust Nintendo to come up with the purple, which I did buy, as it really does look classy! Another thing to consider; buy Nintendo - and think of your health! In all the Nintendo consoles I have purchased from the original, I've never experienced 'repetitive strain injury' - however long I've played. I did on the X-Box, and others. I guess this can only be the design of all their controllers. Nintendo concentrate on the best gaming quality, and so they are also going to have these concerns uppermost when developing new consoles. This distinctly shows when comparing their controllers with the design of others; ever noticed just how comfortable and less cumbersome they are?
Highly recommended!
Shame To See It Not Satisfy Gamers! But It Showed Nintendo's Generation! September 10, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Nintendo Gamecube was the last console released among the console war of the Sony Playstation 2, The Microsoft XBox & The Nintendo Gamecube! It was released on 3rd May 2002 in Europe with only a couple of launch game titles on the go!
The Nintendo Gamecube is probably, one of Nintendo's first consoles, which didn't really satisfy many Nintendo fans as from this particular date in 2006, it has only sold 20 Million Units Worldwide!
The Nintendo Gamecube is Nintendo's first, homing console, that presents 8cm sized disks used to play games, rather than the traditional cartridges! It is also, one of the first consoles to present Memory Cards, which are required to save gaming progress! It doesn't however, support DVD format discs, meaning you cannot play DVD's! It does however, have alternative features that you can use in order to place your Gamecube a few steps forward and ahead. For instance, you have the Game Boy Player, which allows you to play Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance Games on the Nintendo Gamecube, a special cable that can be used to transfer data between a Game Boy Advance and a Nintendo and also, a Broadband Adapter, that allows up to 16 Players to play games such as Mario Kart: Double Dash & Mario Smash Football, and loads more!
When the three new consoles were released, I technically only wanted the Nintendo Gamecube among the PS2 & XBox. But since the Gamecube doesn't have many games released, I decided to collect the other consoles as well! However, the Nintendo Gamecube is still my first of the three consoles and it's the one I putted my money towards!
My Console Rating: 8/10: Enjoyable, Fair-Play, Thumbs Up
My Recommended Games For The Console: Super Smash Bros Melee, Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart: Double Dash, The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Sonic Adventure 2 & Sonic Mega Collection!
My Wish: I would like to see Nintendo design and produce some Nintendo 64 Classic games for the Nintendo Gamecube, like Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Mario Kart 64, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Banjo-Kazooie, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark and loads more!
Final Comments: It is unknown whether Nintendo's career is going to go down the drain because of the status of the Nintendo Gamecube so far, but only the future can answer that question so far! For now, all I can say is, the best of luck to Nintendo!

Oh! Shiny! April 12, 2006 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
Most people who say that the gamecube is/was for kids are teenage boys who are desperate to grow up. You'll see these same kids in a few years lapping the town in there souped up citreons still pretending to be men. The truth of it is, the same people who nay sayed the Gamecube are those very people who killed the Dreamcast, a much better console than the playstation one which failed mainly because Sony had lots of shiny marketing which made all the boy go "coooool, mummy tommy has one of those so i need one" and of course the games were aimed at a dumber demographic of short attention span owning, blasting and crashing, hormone fulled chavs to be.
Don't get me wrong, all consoles have their own merits and their own great titles, it's just a shame that one wins out over another because of its cool factor and not because of its gameplay elements.
These people just need to come to terms with themselves, if you are a true "gamer" whatever that means, and you see gaming as an art, then you will enjoy blasting people in the face on Counterstrike just as much as relaxing and having fun with mario or monkeyball on your Cube.
