4 out of 5 stars At Least It's Not As Complicated As The Nintendo 64 Controller!   January 30, 2007
I had difficulty experiencing the Nintendo 64 Controller as it has three holding points, and you don't exactly know where to position you're hands! Luckily enough, when I got my Nintendo Gamecube, I got used to the Nintendo Gamecube Controller quickly and impressively without hassle.

You'll find that most of the buttons on the Gamecube controller are easily recognizable. Most of which are as featured from the Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 Controllers and even the Gamecube's Controller mimic's a bit from the Microsoft XBox Controller!

The only cry I get with the controller is that the joystick, has these circles on top, which are a bit rough and can make your thumb have a itch or two. But I've found out the more you use the controller the smoother it gets! On my controller I've lost half of the circles now, but it still works anyhow!

The Nintendo Gamecube controller has a total of 14 Buttons (28 Buttons if you include all the D-Pad and all 8 corners on the Joysticks!)

My Grade For The Controller: 8/10: Enjoyable, Fair-Play, Thumbs Up

My Wish: I wish the lead were just a little bit longer. Sometimes when you have 4 controllers at once in the Nintendo Gamecube, you tend to pull it so much; the Gamecube cannot seem to handle the pressure!

Final Comments: Well at least counting the buttons on this controller was a bit easier than the Playstation 2 and the Microsoft XBox's!

All the people rubbishing the XBox and PS2 controllers, have you ever used one? The PS2 pad is very good and the fact that it has had only minor adjustments in many years is a true testament to it's quality. And the XBox controllers are fine if you do not have tiny hands, they are sturdy and built to last. In contrast this Gamecube pad is flimsy and it looks and feels cheap. Do yourself a favour and get an XBox

5 out of 5 stars An excellent controller   March 18, 2004

If you?ve bought a gamecube you will probably have one of these controllers already and will know of its brilliance. First of all the controller is of unique design and when you fist look at it some may say it looks rather childish with its bright colours and strange shape. However it looks brilliant when compared to the boring dated PS2 controller and the black behemoth controller of the X-box. It is perfectly designed for the gamer. The controller is the right size (unlike the large cumbersome X-Box controller) and when you hold it your thumbs are ideally positioned over the two control sticks and your fingers have easy access to all the other buttons and there are enough buttons to meet the needs of even the most demanding games. The controller has a built in rumble feature that vibrates to just the right level. Another brilliant feature of this controller is the digital click feature of the L and R buttons meaning the harder you press the more intense the action. If considering buying a second controller for your cube although the unofficial other controllers are cheaper most are nowhere near as good as the official cube controller. So if buying a cube controller I recommend you spend a little extra on the official controller unless you wish to spend more and purchase the official wireless controller- the wavebird

The gamecube controller is a worthy purchase for the gamecube because let's face it you can't play without it. There are wireless controllers avaliable now for the gamecube but they are pricey so it's best just to have a wire one for a cheaper price.
