Amazon.co.uk Review Building a better system from the ground up sometimes involves digging into even the most mundane components. Take memory cards, for instance. To provide larger storage capacity and faster access rates--PlayStation2 cards transfer data 200 times faster than cards for the original PlayStation--PlayStation2 developers have upgraded the technology for the new memory card. The 8 MB Memory Card uses Flash Memory, the storage technology that's revolutionising handheld computers, digital cameras and MP3 players. In contrast, the 128 KB memory cards that were designed for the original PlayStation use memory blocks. While large files can spill over several blocks, you can't store more than one file per block in that design, no matter how small the file. The 8 MB Memory Card alleviates that problem by organising and storing files much more like a computer hard disk. --Simon Priestly

you need one of these with a PS2 as standard August 15, 2008 8 megs is very big compared to some of the game file sizes. very good and no corruption risks
Well, Looks like im the one missing out! June 4, 2008 I read the reviews for this memory disk and purchased it a few days ago, it arrived yesterday and it just doesnt work at all! apparently has Data Corrupted??? no idea how i seem to be the only one this has happened to with this particular card?
I agree, it is kind of sad reviewing a memory card. September 17, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
All you need to know is that this is a card that will save your progress on PS2 games. With plenty of memory you can take it to someone elses PS2 and load your progress onto it instead of internal memory which is just stuck to its own console.
...its a card with memory you don't need to read a review about it do you?
Much Cheaper August 11, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a much cheaper memory card, with lots of memory space on it! Fantastic: This one held data for 25 high quality games!
Thankfully cheaper now! April 7, 2007 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
When the Playstation 2 memory card originally came out in 2000, it cost what is now, an incredible 27! We look at how technology has moved, and you could buy 4 1GB SD cards for that price. Thankfully, Sony reduced the price, and its now an essential accersory that you can still afford without going to third party products. Good value, excellent quality!
