It?s the game that never should?ve worked. Normal licensed games are usually bad enough but the game of the toy of the film? Clearly the Force was with developer Traveller?s Tales though because Lego Star Wars I and II were huge critical and commercial hits that showed that not only could licensed games be good but that titles aimed at kids and the family could be just as innovative and entertaining as any other. Clearly not wishing for any of the new consoles to miss out on the fun this is a compendium of both games with a bunch of new extras thrown in on top. Together the two games cover both the prequel and original trilogy, with each film given six separate levels of its own, one of which is vehicle based. The rest of the levels though are deceptively simple action adventures with a built-in co-operative mode that anyone can join in and leave whenever they want. The combat is simple enough that anyone can play and you never really die, leaving the most complex part of the gameplay the always cleverly designed puzzles. For this special version of the games extra levels have been added in (including the Zam Wessell chase from Attack of the Clones) as well as new bonus missions, ten new bounty hunter missions and the ability to play any of the characters in any of the levels. Add in a new online co-op mode for the PS3 and 360 and this really is the complete saga.

This game is fantastic and an absolute bargain at the moment.
Nearly missed 2 outings over Xmas due to this game as I couldnt leave it half way through a level.
There are hours of gameplay and some levels make you think quite hard on how to get into certain areas.
Buy this now as you will not be disappointed but do not buy a light saber attachment as these appear a waste of money as they block the signal (I have one that is heading for the bin as we speak).

This game is one of the cheapest games i've ever bought and its one of the best games ever bought. It is brilliant how a whole new variety of movements are brought into the game, with 160 levels the game doesn't end quickly. It's good how a variety of characters/weapons are used- guns, the force, lightsabers and lasers. Its a really good buy for the money, I bought several to give a xmas presents. Overall, a brilliant game.
Great fun for all ages December 19, 2008
I bought a Wii 1.5 years ago and have made do with Wii Sports/Brain Academey/Wii fit. This is my first foray into a true game and I have to say I think it is excellent. My last games were 10-15 years ago on Doom/Duke Nukem etc and have not played anything since.
My six year old who had not really played a game before loves playing it and picked it up so easily. The cio-operative mode is great so it is not a case of children playing on their own, though you have the option to drop out and resume when you need to make tea, get back to jobs etc.
Overall the levels are interesting and give a great feel of the Star Wars saga. As with everyone elses in comments the lack of proper light sabre control was a shame (but having read reviews I knew what to expect and therefore was not disappointed.)
My fave has to be the snowspeeder battle on Hoth...worth the 15 by itself ignoring the other 159 levels.

This is where the Wii wins in the battle of the consoles.......where else can you swing your controller as a lightsaber!!
The game has all 6 of the star wars movies, however I have to admit I do prefer the last 3, but I think thats just because I am more familiar with those 3 films!
You can play the game in so many ways. I started by going through and just playing each level following the story, which has its own lego spin to it, which is fantastic - so funny!! Now I am going through again trying to collect the various other goals - collecting studs (if you collect so many studs you get true jedi status on that level), collecting mini-kits and red bricks to name a few!
You play as all of the characters - luke, hans, leia, chewy, yoda, R2D2, C3PO, Boba Fett and even random imperial troopers, ewoks and more! It involves elements of puzzle games, adventure games and action games.
This game really does last for ages, it has longevity!! It is a must for all star wars fans, lego fans, wii fans...........ok its a must for anyone!

Fantastic game and great fun! If you're a Star Wars fan you'll love it! If you're not a Star Wars fan, you'll love the game! This was my first intro to the "Lego" games and I found that I can pick it up and play it for any amount a time - a few minutes or a few hours! It's simple yet there is so much to do and explore! The sounds are brilliant and really immerse you into the Star Wars universe! It's refreshing to find a game that doesn't involve killing/dieing and violence, but uses humourous dictations of these (i.e. lego characters regenerating)! Looking fwd to Indiana Jones, Batman & hopefully many more?! :)
