Amazon.co.uk Review
Carve out a virtual life for yourself as hero or villain in the fantasy world of Fable II, where nothing is pre-determined. Create your own character, male or female, and control them over their whole lifetime. Watch as they grow up and then make the tough moral choices that will affect their abilities and how the world sees them.
Some cities are huge, with a complex infrastructure for you to exploit
Acting for good or evil can have a permanent physical effect on your features
Guns are commonplace, but swordfighting is still vitally important
Not all your enemies are human in the world of Fable

Set in the land of Albion 500 years after the first game (such that primitive guns are now in widespread use), you can either seek to rid the land of evil or conquer the realm for yourself. The game features an all new combat system, allowing you to use a range of melee and ranged weapons, while death brings only a loss of experience.

But the game need not be about fighting at all if you don?t want it to be. You can buy property and become a mayor, or get married and have children. Many games call themselves role-players, but here the nature of your role is entirely up to you.

Key Features
  • Game of life: Mould your own character and watch them grow into adulthood, their features changing according to the deeds they perform for good or evil.
  • Virtual reality: Will you be a charming evil doer or an antisocial hero? The role you play is entirely up to you as you follow the game?s story or ignore it to do your own thing.
  • New age of combat: Wield a huge range of weapons, including swords, axes, and newly available muskets. Or master a range of magic spells with up to 80 different varieties available.
  • Team up: Invite a friend into your game at any time and play with them in co-operative mode.
  • Best friend: Every character gets a chance to own a pet dog, one who will help you to find your way through the game world, attack enemies, or just be a good friend.
About the Developer: Lionhead Studios
Headed by industry veteran Peter Molyneux, creator of the famous Populous and Theme Park, Lionhead are one of the UK?s best known developers. They were bought by Microsoft in 2006 and now produce games such as Black & White, The Movies, and Fable only on Xbox 360 and PC.

4 out of 5 stars Fable 2 collectors edition-a rip-off?!   January 6, 2009
The game itself is fine- as sequels go-fun extras like pub-games and you can pimp-up your character in many new ways. Also you get a dog as a companion and that is fun but a bit pointless... The quests feel a bit boring, probably because of the immense build-up whilst the game was beeing developed.
Shame on the makers that changed the contents of the collectors edition!!!The pre-ordered page promised lots of neat stuff in the box (like a cute hobb figurine and some other things)and then all of a sudden changed it into really boring stuff mainly already available in the game!
A lot of pre-game hysteria that really turned out to be just thin smoke!
But as a game, it's fine-just not THAT fine!

5 out of 5 stars Nothing Special about this edition   December 15, 2008

Fable II - Limited Collectors Edition (Xbox 360)

I loved the first Fable and the second one too, but the special edition is nothing it promised to be. For the extra money you are paying for a dungeon (max 20 minutes play, a sword in the dungeon (by far not the best), and a spartan suit and sword (novely wears of after 5 minutes and stats are soon outdated). there are also 2 videos on the bonus disk: one being the making of which is basically an extended version of the video diaries. The other is a movie of a hob toy changing background with music...

If thats your thing then go for it but i was a bit confused.
You also get concept art gallery which is fairly small.

The worker in Game tried to put me off it and i didnt listen. Unless you are strangely attracted to hobs i'd stick to the original version.

fable 2 is a brilliant sequel to the first fable for xbox but the story line is shorter and you cant die making the game although easier than the first one but it has its perks such as a dog and new clothes and dyes to change the colors of the cloths the game is fun and i rate it 5*

4 out of 5 stars awesome game.......   November 7, 2008

this is a really good game but it does have its drawbacks. there are times when it can be really glitchy, the storyline is pretty short, etc. but over all il rate this game as a four star. its kinda ruined by peter molyneux appearing EVERYWHERE that has Fable 2 to its name. the limited edition itself is a great buy. you get loads of in-game content including the master chief armour which i have worn from the beginning of the game to the end, a legendary sword "The Wreckager", access to "The Hall of the Dead" and 48 hour free trial xbox live. not to mention the cool sideways case. im not normally the RPG gamer but this is the best RPG ive played. BUY THIS GAME!

2 out of 5 stars Wait until its fixed   October 29, 2008

I've have been waiting for this game since it was announced and can confirm that when its running its amazing, however there seems to be major problems with the game freezing every few minutes and I would wait until Lionhead provide a fix, its so frustrating having the game and being unable to play except for a few minutes. I had the same problem with Oblivion when it was released and it wasnt until months later, replacement discs and new patches that I could play the game properly. Just hope they sort this out very soon as the game is awesome when you can get it working.
