Amazon.co.uk Review
In a nutshell:
The ultimate evolution of virtual pet: Nintendogs gives you opportunity to preen and look after a selection of cute puppies in a virtual home, with virtual currency, where you can buy toys and accessories for their enjoyment. You can clean the pups, feed them, walk them, play catch with them, and even talk to them.

The lowdown:
Nintendogs is brimming with character. Each pup looks out from the DS touchscreen and paws longingly. You can respond to your virtual pet's need of attention by stroking the screen, using items such as balls and brushes with the aid of the stylus, and talking to your dogs through the DS's inbuilt microphone system. Impressive 3D graphics give lifelike animation to these canine wonders.

Most exciting moment:
After a few attempts to speak commands into the microphone, your puppy understands the meaning of "sit", barks approval, and sits down. It's good to talk.

Since you ask:
You can keep three pups in your home at any time. When left to their own devices, they'll play and play-fight together. And they call this 'puppy love'.

The bottom line:
A Nintendog is not just for Christmas.

2 out of 5 stars Nintendogs   December 30, 2008
Did not enjoy this game at all. Found it hard to get my pup to hear me you have to shout at it and as I have a dog of my own she would bark at it too !! Got fed up with not getting any further forward.

2 out of 5 stars not good   December 27, 2008

i just got this game for christmas its really bad and i would definatley not recommend it. people just think its good because it was one of the first games out on ds. well for starters it isnt fun cause you have to pick your dogs name and then all you do is kepp calling it its name over and over again until it recognises it and that takes about 45 miniutes. then you teach it to sit and that takes over an hour then to top it off and make things worse you do both at the same time and it dosent let you do it at all or its doing it on purpose and it took me about 2 hours just to get it to come over and sit down.
it says after that that it is saving because you have no choice because 3 buttons are missing so you cant play with it till you have done that. anyway... it saves it and turns itself off when you turn it back on it isnt saved so you never get anywhere i took mine back and got my money cause it was so bad i would never buy this unless you are a person that likes to play game that repeat and all you do is keep calling the same thing over and over again. SO DONT BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars review by A.W.   December 20, 2008
I THINK THIS GAME IS BRILLIANT!!!! i HAVE 7 DOGS AND i HAVE HAD IT FOR NEARLY A YEAR. i LOVE ENTERING COMPETITIONS AND i REALLY LIKE THE AGILITY TRIAL. YOU GET TO WASH AND GROOM YOUR DOG, AND TAKE IT FOR WALKS. ON THE WALKS YOU MAY FIND PRESENTS OR MEET OTHER DOGS, BUT NEVER EAT THE RUBBISH!! YOU SHOULD REALLY CONSIDER BUYING THIS GAME BECAUSE IT KEEPS YOU ENTERTAINED FOR MONTHS! i LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this game I have got 8 dogs now. Lucky is in the champion ship of disk competition. It gives you money. BUT it has lots of reading to do and little ones skip it.I am 8 years old.
